Workshops with Jessica Farren Photography
Where art, horses, and storytelling come together.
A Place to Create, Learn, and Connect
What began as a way to share my love of horses and photography has become something even more meaningful, a space for creativity, community, and inspiration.
Each workshop is designed for photographers who want to deepen their craft and connect more intentionally with their subjects. Together, we explore light, movement, and storytelling while photographing horses in natural, authentic settings.
There’s something truly special about capturing horses in their element, feeling the wind shift, watching how light settles across the landscape, and learning how to translate that into imagery that feels alive.
The Experience
My workshops aren’t just about technique; they’re about presence.
We spend time outdoors, surrounded by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, working with incredible horses and their people. Participants are encouraged to experiment, play with light, and explore their creative voice in a supportive, collaborative environment.
These equine photography workshops in Washington offer the chance to learn, create, and grow alongside others who share a passion for horses and storytelling.
Evenings are for conversation, image review, and sharing experiences over good food and laughter. It’s a balance of learning and connection, where education meets artistry.
Upcoming Workshops - 2026
Walla Walla, Washington — June 2026
Set against the rolling hills of Milton-Freewater, Oregon, just minutes from Walla Walla, this two-day workshop focuses on photographing Lusitanos in motion and at liberty. You’ll learn to see and use light in new ways, work with equine models in natural settings, and refine your creative storytelling.
This location is close to my heart, it’s where my first workshop began, and I’m thrilled to return in 2026.

Reflections
Each workshop reminds me why I love what I do. Watching participants discover new ways to see and capture light, or connect with a horse through the lens, is always a privilege. These weekends are as much about growth and inspiration as they are about photography.
